Well, the public open days at the dig have come to an end with nearly two hundred people taking tours of the site. Many happy smiley faces returned to Sutton Bank having braved the weather – which was wet this morning but faired up as the day went along.
Here are just a few of the comments from happy customers:
“Very good site guide…my wife thought he was gorgeous”
“Very interesting and well presented – made you forget the weather”
“The archaeologist was very knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. A really excellent and informative talk”
“It is rare we get a chance to have a first hand look at archaeology. Better than a Time Team show. Thank you”
“Enjoyed the event. Was pleased to have a member of the dig to explain it to us and to have the chance to ask questions afterwards. It was well organised. It is not often that the general public get the chance to see archaeological digs, so this was an opportunity not to be missed”
