Refreshed and revitalized the diggers did dutifully descend, upon the fruit of their endeavours, after a restful mid-week sabbatical. Walking done and working yet to be done they gathered round as orders were given. The clock is ticking and Boltby has as yet not revealed her hand. Our young heroes (and heroines) set to with fierce determination, revealing ever more cards in this game of archaeological poker! Of course all were on their best behaviour today for other, more earthly reasons also –The grand inspection of the mighty Julian Richards! As approachable and lovely as he is there was definitely a sense of renewed industry amongst the young folk as the head of York University made the rounds of the site… not that these fellows are ever lazy! Accomplishments abounded come days end, and with the sense of ‘an end in sight’ our tales protagonists marched with pride to their chariot, satisfied that good impressions were made, but more importantly, that archaeology had been uncovered!
