Another short update!

Following my previous post which was many months ago….we are still hoping to undertake more excavation at Boltby Scar. It won’t happen in 2009 because of the availability of Dominic Powlesland and team plus various other Lime & Ice commitments in the autumn. We are therefore considering another excavation in the late spring/early summer of 2011. We have received a project design from Dominic Powlesland and are now working out what we can do under the given timescale and with the remaining available budget. This discussion will continue between myself, the National Park, the landowner, English Heritage and the Landscape Research Centre over the coming months. During this time it is unlikely that there will be much to report on via this blog.

I am certainly thinking about how we can replicate the fantastic experience of 2009 whilst making some changes. One thing we are strongly considering is how we can open the site up to more school groups. The open weekend was also well received last time and we hope to do something similar again.

That’s all for now!
